replacing a fine offset wh1030 setup
« on: June 24, 2024, 05:38:30 AM »
hello
I’ve been running a couple of pws for nearly 10 years based on fine offset wh1080. All are based on my receiver, processor and code. I’m now getting failures and can’t find spares and would like to update my setup. I’ve been looking at ecowitt ws69 as a replacement with bm2302 868mhz receiver.

Can anybody comment on this setup and where I might find the ecowitt tx data packet format.

My weather reporting is on http://www.vitalstates.org/weather/weather.php

many thanks Wooks61

I had seen those docs, but only looked casually as they all seem to assume some kind of receiver unit. I was hoping the mast units behaved in a similar fashion to the old fine offset unit, i.e they transmit a data stream every few seconds to a receiver unit. It's the format of the transmitted data stream that I'm after. Those docs seem to concentrate on data from the receiver units rather than the mast unit.

I may have missed something so I will read the docs in more detail.

Sorry I misunderstood which data you were after.

If you are into reading source code, take a look at the rtl_433 project on Github:

         https://github.com/merbanan/rtl_433

rtl_433 supports receiving date from a number of Fine Offset/Ecowitt devices.
